MobileWish Pocket Travel Assistant (PTA) has won the M-Content category in Manthan Awards South Asia 2009, held in New Delhi during 18-19 December 2009. The Digital Empowerment Foundation has been organising  Manthan Awards  for last 6 years . “The idea behind the Manthan Awards was to focus on technology not when it was implemented for technology’s sake, but in terms of the impact it had on people”.

This year Manthan Awards gathered 400 projects , 1000 delegates & champions , 30 states in 8 South Asian countries and was sponsered by Nokia Siemens Network , Department of Information and Technology, Government of India and National e-Governance Plan along with many partners like The Wall Street Journal inside Mint, UNESCO, Intel, IDRC CRDI, IGNOU, Media Lab Asia, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) , Media Lab Asia and many more.

In the category meant for mobile for masses i.e. M-Content, there were 12 shortlisted entries from various participants like 2 projects from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Mobile Banking project of of Sate Bank of India, English seekho from Tactical Technologies India, Complaint tracking system from Nasik Rural Police, Farm ERP Mobile etc. Pocket Travel Assistant finally made itself to the no 1. rank in the category and become a Manthan Awardee for the year 2009.

We were present in 2 days event and participated in sharing new ideas in mobile related technology with an refernce to the theme of this international conclave “Uniting Communities with 3G”. For more details please visit http://manthanaward.org/
